Psychosis
By Kitana
The sun was as always high and bright
in that true blue sky, another reflection of the wide open seas, endless to the
eye, the white clouds so striking amongst all that brilliant blue. She took a
deep breath feeling the life within her flutter and then breathed out. Summer
had to be her favourite time of year, the warm caress of the sun acting as if
her distant partner, a poor excuse of a replacement but better than
none.
She walked into the green of the grass sensing each and every blade
under her feet, so soft on her soles. She reached out her hand to the side of
her and closed her eyes, she didn't have to see but only feel his hand taking a
hold of her own. Her lips spreading slightly into a smile, "I knew you would be
here," she whispered leaning her head to the side and glazing from narrowed
eyes, "I just had this feeling about you all day," she smiled again unable to
contain the pure glee inside.
He entwined his fingers into hers and
gently pulled her closer, with his other free hand he slid that round her waist
and simply held on, "I've missed you," he said quietly lips so close to her ear.
She held tightly on leaning more into his nestle of arms and warmth, "So
have I," she pulled away dragging him onwards within the green smiling and
laughing, "Come on," she said tugging playfully at him. Everything felt so right
for her, he made her everything right and for some reason there wasn’t that
weighing feeling inside and that cold dark longing seemed to have simply
vanished as soon as her eyes met his, as soon as his warmth touched hers, as
soon as his delicate fingers entangled with hers. Everything about him made
everything that was so wrong and desolate disappear as if it had never happened.
He had such a hold over her and of her life, it was almost distressing to even
ponder him leaving, surly that would destroy her completely.
Without him,
what was there to live for?
He came up behind her hugging her back into
his body, "I love you," she giggled, "Always and forever..."
He snuggled
close into her mass of dark brown curls and kissed her neck, "Always and
forever," he repeated, he placed his chin on her shoulder arms and hands still
attached round her waist, his hold so tight like he didn't want to let
go.
“It’s time,” called a voice behind her.
She turned curious to
see who was spying on her, “Who are you?”
The lady smiled faintly, but it
never met her smiles, there was a distant emptiness within those pupils of hers
and it was almost scary to stare at them. Her hands squeezed into his hands
more, but as she turned to see him there was nothing. Her heart leapt from her
chest until it ached painfully, “Where is he?!” he questioned towards the
strange woman.
“He’s gone,” she replied.
“Gone?! He would never
leave me!! WHO ARE YOU?!” fear mixed with anger mingled together like two
droplets of water, it sparked something from inside a sort of depression that
was linger by the surface. But instead of falling deeper in the pool of hatred
and longing it forced her anger out!
The woman moved closer, her position
seemed to show she was about to pounce, “Now don’t get excited,” she said,
“Let’s go inside where you can calm down,” the woman smiled, that same smile
that was all but fake.
“No,” she stepped back, fearfully of the woman, “I
don’t trust you!”
"What's wrong with your hands?" called the
woman.
She looked down and frowned, a spider web of red peered through
the white sleeve of her dress, it was most curious she looked closer and pulled
back the material to find the most hideous cut, "O God not again!" The wound got
bigger and deeper and the blood just kept on pouring pouring, it streamed down
her arms staining the pure white material red. The image disgusted her, made her
sickly inside.
"Stop it! STOP IT!"
A weighing feeling pressed down
on her body, she could see as if she was looking from outside onto her. People
where holding her down as if she was a crazy woman, she panicked because she
didn’t know what was happening to her. Who are these people and what do they
want? But most of all, where was he? Why did he abandon her at the moment she
needed him the most?
The weighing feeling vanished just as quickly as he
did, she opened her eyes to find herself in the same old cell, her wrists
bandaged in heavy cloth and cotton, stains of red flooding through the cloth.
She screamed dashing violently at her wrists offended by the injury.
“WHERE ARE YOU?!”
